GENERAL INFORMATION:

Long stay visa is granted to foreigners, upon request, for a period of 90 days, with one or more entries for the following purposes:

a)the carrying out of economic activities - to foreigners who are going to carry out on the territory of Romania economic activities organized and regulated by special laws;

b)thecarrying out professional activities - to foreigners who are going to exercise on the territory of Romania liberal professions regulated by special laws;

c)the carrying out of commercial activities – to foreigners who are or will become shareholders or partners responsible for management and administration duties in Romanian companies;

d)employment – to foreigners who are going to enter Romania for employment purposes. The visa issued for this purpose will also be issued to athletes, who are going to perform within clubs or teams in Romania under an individual employment contract under the law;

d1)secondment – to qualified foreigners, who are employees of a legal person based abroad, to conduct work activities in Romania, according to the law.

e)studies – to foreigners, who are going to enter Romania to attend courses in pre-university, university or postgraduate education, as the case may be, or to obtain scientific titles in accredited state or private institutions, according to the law;

f)family reunification – to foreigners, who are going to enter Romania in order to regain family unity;

g)religious activities – to foreigners, who are going to enter Romania to carry out activities in the field of recognized cults, upon their request;

h)scientific research activities – to foreigners, who are going to enter Romania for conducting scientific research activities.

i)other purposes.

By a long-stay visa, foreigners are granted the right to stay for a maximum of 90 days from the date of their entry in Romania.

The long-stay visa entitles you to apply for a residence permit on the territory of Romania, if he/she intends to stay in Romania for more than 90 days.
